Description
Monica Jensen, once a high school ‘golden girl’ and now a numb and bewildered divorcee of twenty-nine, has come to rural Pennsylvania to teach and start a new life. There she meets the charismatic Sheila Trask, a painter and the widow of a famous sculptor. Sheila is the local eccentric, living in alternate splendour and squalour, self-dramatising, self-destructive and always unpredictable (back cover).
